Many people find writing poetry difficult because they don't know what to write about; however, if you look at other very famous poets they write about their feelings and their life. Also, they don't just write random sentences they write from their hearts. If you do this you will be able to connect with your readers. Another way to really spark your writing is to add a rhyme scheme, figurative language, alliteration, and many other poetic devices. These will add the poetic feeling to your writing. Another way to make your poems better would be to add challenging words. This is is just another way to make your writing even more interesting. When writing you also want to remember to use mood and imagery to give your readers things to think about and imagine.
Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.
~William Wordsworth
